Dr. Oufattole is Vice President of Research & Development at Benson Hill, a fast-growing Agtech startup located in St. Louis, Missouri. Since joining Benson Hill in early 2016, Dr. Oufattole has assembled an innovative R&D team committed to improving the sustainability of agriculture while enhancing the nutritional quality and health benefits of our food. His team has developed a cutting-edge platform and a portfolio of technologies used in crop genetic improvement.
Prior to joining Benson Hill, Dr. Oufattole spent a decade of his career at Monsanto (now Bayer Crop Science) where he held multiple scientific leadership roles across various discovery, enabling and trait product development programs. He also served as the head of Monsanto’s R&D Center in India, where he led a multi-disciplinary research operation, and later managed the development of a portfolio of microbial products as part of what used to be the Monsanto-Novozymes BioAg Alliance program. 
Dr. Oufattole completed his postdoctoral training at Washington State University, where he also obtained an MBA. He earned a MSc. and PhD in Biological Sciences & Molecular Biology from the Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium and a BSc degree from the University of Moulay Ismail in Morocco.
