Student Competition Announced for Agricultural Data Event

The Virtual Event

This fall, IRSA, GEMs, and the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute will host a unique, cross-sector dialogue on agricultural data usage and management in the form of a virtual event: Unlocking the Agricultural Data Revolution will take place September 24-25, 2020. The event aims to discuss how we can overcome the challenges facing agricultural data management and usage to deliver the most value to farmers and beyond.

Agriculture forms the backbone of human survival and well-being. It is also one of the largest drivers of natural resource use and impact on the environment. Data enables us to better serve everyone from the farmers to the consumers to the environment broadly, creating a world that is sustainable and healthy.  As we have seen during the recent pandemic, our agriculture and food systems are critical and building for the future requires significant shifts in how we utilize data. We have an opportunity for unprecedented coordination and collaboration in this space to truly effect change.
