2026 Minnesota K-12 Data Visualization Poster Competition
K-12 students across Minnesota told stories with data in the 2026 statewide poster competition, organized by IRSA, the ASA Twin Cities Chapter and the UMN Undergraduate Statistics Club.
The 2026 Minnesota K-12 Data Visualization Poster Competition invited students from kindergarten through grade 12 to create posters that tell a story with data. It was sponsored and organized by IRSA, the American Statistical Association (ASA) Twin Cities Chapter and the University of Minnesota Undergraduate Statistics Club.
Students submitted posters by April 25, 2026 in four grade categories: K-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. An independent panel of industry and academic statisticians judged the entries with a published rubric. Prize winners in each category received cash prizes and certificates, were forwarded to the ASA national poster competition, and were invited to present at the 2026 ASA Midwest Regional Conference in Statistics and Data Science at the University of Minnesota.
To help students prepare, IRSA offered a free online data visualization workshop in March.
